[send in your feature request by posting to this topic]
Coming in the weeks/months ahead, but not necessarily in that order if not in the "COMPLETED" section. Let me know if you have a preference as to the order of one or more of the "QUEUED" features.
== DONE - PENDING NEXT RELEASE ==
== IN PROGRESS ==
- support 16-bit screen depth devices
== QUEUED ==
- bug fix: deleting NinerJot from your Palm does not delete associated NinerJot databases. Right now, this has to be done manually with tools such as FileZ (as reported by Steve Caplin)
- support low-density displays
- see the complete note when it is larger than the screen
- facilitate edit-pan-edit flow (toggling between panning and editing modes is too cumbersome, hence distracting, right now)
- note-larger-than-screen hint(s)
- keep track of viewport position on a per-note-basis, and restore that position when accessing a note
- text tool
- tip size adjuster |

|
|
Hi, I just downloaded NinerJot and in just five minutes got me impressed.
In reference to the edit-panning-edit flow, may I suggest...
1. Ability to map one of the hardware buttons as a "pan" key. With this key pressed the stylus works in pan mode. The natural selection for my Zire 72 would be the voice note button, but not all Palms have it.
2. 5 way control panning, on Palms that support it.
3. Graffiti area panning. Since this area is not normally used in NinerJot, its free for panning purposes. However, it could be cumbersome for DIA devices.
4. Pan & edit mode: You start writing and when the stylus leave the screen, the view is centered (or moved to a preselected spot) around the last place the stylus was. Tapping (but not writing) somewhere on the screen centers the view on this spot. The "quickness" to tap may be used to discriminate from tap to a written point.
BTW, as a spanish speaker, I'd be glad in helping to translate NinerJot´s texts.
Best regards, Marco. |

Hi Marco
Thanks for your feedback. You are way ahead of me on the edit-pan-edit workflow. Thanks for doing my homework.
You got me inspired and I think I will go one of these 2 ways:
1. double-tap on the screen to switch modes
2. let the user decide, by adding a custom shortcuts form to NinerJot (the same thing that I introduced in NinerPaint a couple of versions ago).
I'll have to do some tests first though. More news shortly.
Cheers
Alex
PS: thanks for your offer to translate the docs into Spanish. I'd like to take you up on that before the next release if you're still up to it. I'll contact you in a few weeks. |

I tried out NinerPad and it looks promising. There are a few features that would be nice:
1. Assign functions to hardware keys: pan, zoom, pencil, eraser, etc. Preferably let the user asign whatever function to whatever key they want. Ideally, let them assign a different set for portrait and landscape mode.
2. Ideally a hotsync conduit for Windows would be nice. But maybe have an option to automatically store all notes on an SD card folder as a gif, bmp, png, or whatever file. I don't know what file features would be available under palm. But it would be nice if tags could be added to the metadata for searching on your desktop or else if you can do long filenames on the Palm have the filename be something like date+tags ("yyyy-mm-dd-hh-mm-ss, tag1, tag2, tag3, etc.gif").
That's really all. I'd also like to see a zooming function but it looks like that's already on your list.
Thanks! |

Hi there
Custom action nav key support is already in the queue. This feature is important to me and I hope to have it activated for 1.1, 1.2, or 1.3,
Hotsync for Windows: I don't really want to develop this, but integration is important yes, and so I am beginning to think about the best way to bring these notes to the "webtop". Please stay tuned for news on this a few weeks from now.
Cheers
